Clinical Supervision
As much as I love working with clients, I equally love working with new clinicians. The relationships I had both with my field supervisor and post grad supervisor were incredibly important and influential. It is deeply meaningful to me now offer supervision, something that greatly impacted my therapeutic identity.
While still in a large group practice, I spent 2.5 years as a field supervisor, where I interviewed, trained, and supervised graduate interns as they saw their first clients. Through a mix of individual, triadic, and group supervision, I supported 46 interns over that time, 34 of whom I supervised directly. Becoming an LPC-S was the natural next step.
My Approach
Supervision with me is relational, first and foremost. My goal isn't to produce mini-Annes; it's to help you find and trust your own clinical voice. That means real feedback, real support, and space to try things that stretch you. I bring the same warmth, humor, and directness to supervision that I bring to therapy itself. While I have certain modalities that resonate with me, you should use evidence-based modalities that resonate with you. If they are the same or similar to mine, great. If they are dissimilar but you feel like I still provide what you are looking for, great.
Who I Supervise
I supervise LPC-Associates in Texas. I'm especially well-suited to associates who are:
• Seeing adults, individually and/or as couples
• Aligned with experiential therapies, particularly EMDR
• Looking for a supervisor who will challenge them while viewing and caring for them as a whole human
What FORMER INTERNS SAY
"I had the great privilege of having Anne as my supervisor during my first year seeing clients, and I believe wholeheartedly that she has played a key role in influencing the therapist I have become. Her candor, sense of humor, unwavering support, and ability to think in a way that challenges the status quo helped me move through that first year with much more ease than I had expected... I specifically recall her pushing me to try expanding my comfort zone in order to grow as a young therapist. I had some trepidation about working with couples at first, and Anne suggested I take the plunge — and I deeply appreciated that, because I learned to love that work and the challenge. I would be supervised by Anne again in a heartbeat." -Michelle
"Anne is truly the supervisor I never knew I needed, and I'm so thankful I landed her as mine. She has been such a major force in shaping me into the clinician I am today. She's warm, genuine, incredibly knowledgeable, and creates a space where I can fully be myself while still challenging me to grow. She brings so much compassion and humor into supervision, and you can tell how deeply she cares about the clinicians she works with." Cristina
